ACFA was approached by Colin Davenport of Bannockburn House Trust to carry out a walk-over survey of the grounds of the house. A team from ACFA undertook the survey in March 2023, guided by Colin Davenport. The aim was to confirm the known archaeology and identify any other features.
There is evidence of coal extraction with known mine sites and a wagonway. Two features were noted and recorded: a linear feature presenting as a ditch, and a dyke.
